Tequila Moonrise

From the heart of Mexico’s agave fields comes the soul of tequila- and perhaps something even more mysterious. Inspired by a photograph I took on a private hacienda, this painting transforms rows of agave into a vision between waking and dreaming. Beneath a luminous moon, the plants shimmer like spirits of the earth, their geometry guiding the eye toward a radiant tree alive with light.
Once, donkeys carried the massive hearts of agave along these same red paths to distant distilleries. Here, those paths lead somewhere else entirely- into a world where vegetation, soil, and spirit intertwine.
In the dance between light and color, the earthly and the ethereal meet. Perhaps tequila, born of this very plant, is itself a small sip of the same dream.
