About Nancy Graham
Nancy’s highest art expressions are in the dazzling details in each of her pieces. These specific features take patience and many hours of intense focus.
Watercolor is her favorite medium but she is quite adept with oils, acrylics and fabric.
Through the years, Nancy has continued to fine tune her art as she has evolved professionally. Her notebook of ideas is still growing. It’s the fine points of her photorealism pieces that are incredibly unique, especially in her paintings of cars and the depiction of chrome to reflect the surrounding world.
It was her mother’s interest in cars that introduced Nancy and her two brothers to the beauty of automobiles. Car shows, including those at Chicago’s McCormick Place, were early influences in defining her art. Nancy has created more automotive paintings than any other subject. The automobile has been a major subject matter throughout her career.
Her mother, who was an artist, gave Nancy some pastels when she was in the second grade. She took her first artwork to school, where the teacher hung it up in the classroom. By the time she graduated from high school, she had received numerous awards and honors.
Nancy has had numerous gallery shows across the U.S. and is part of several public and private collections. There is a painting of hers hanging at her high school and alma mater, Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois, where she received her B.A. and M.F.A. degrees. She currently lives in Santa Fe, where she has been enjoying her most enjoyable years as an artist.
